Quicksand
Quicksand is a psychological drama, set in two differing worlds that main character Suze is torn between: a dazzling big city and a quiet small island. It tells the story about an intriguing mother-daughter relationship and its repercussions for three generations of women.
Suze lives a warm-hearted, quiet life on an island in the north of the Netherlands with her husband Luukas and bubbly six-year-old daughter Juul. When her colourful, extravagant mother Helena all of a sudden pays a visit to inform her daughter that she’s ill, Suze slowly relapses into severe compulsive behaviour. When she finally realises the suffocating nature of their relationship, Suze makes an emotional but liberating choice.
